Murree has imposed Section 144 from August 10 to 16 ahead of Independence Day celebrations, with authorities announcing special security and traffic arrangements in the hill station.
DPO Murree Raza Tanveer Supra, in a video message, urged citizens and tourists to follow the law and cooperate with police to maintain peace and order.
He said only families will be allowed on Mall Road, while non-family groups will not be permitted entry. He warned that hooliganism, misbehavior, and any disruption to public order will not be tolerated.
The DPO said aerial firing and display of weapons are completely banned, while wheelies and dangerous stunts will also invite action.
He also urged people to avoid fireworks and other unlawful activities, adding that any violation of Section 144 will lead to indiscriminate action.
Raza Tanveer Supra said citizens should celebrate Independence Day with peace and discipline, as protecting lives and property remains the police’s top priority.
