The Punjab Council of the Arts has launched a crackdown on unethical performances and inappropriate dialogue in theatres across the province.
The council has issued notices to several stage actors, drama producers and theatre managements for violating the relevant act.
According to officials, stage actresses Naina Shehzadi, Saima Khan and Sonia Lal, along with actor Rashid Kamal and Zoya Ali, received notices over alleged unethical performances at different theatres, including Kamal Theatre, Munrooh Theatre and Shabistan Theatre.
Sources said several drama producers and theatre administrations also received notices for violating the law.
The Punjab Council of the Arts has decided to continue its action against theatres found breaching the code of conduct.
