Apple Quietly Hikes iPhone Prices After iPhone 18 Launch

Apple has quietly increased the prices of several existing iPhone models shortly after unveiling the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo.

The increase affects the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone Air, and iPhone 16, with each model now costing $100 more than its original launch price.

New iPhone Prices in the US

The standard iPhone 17 now starts at $899 in the United States.

The iPhone 17e has increased to $699, while the iPhone Air now starts at $1,099.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 is priced at $799 for the base 128GB version.

Price Increase Applies Globally

Apple has applied the price hike across all regions where these models are currently sold.

The move is unusual because Apple normally reduces the prices of older iPhones after introducing a new generation.

This time, however, the company has raised prices instead, with the increase linked to the ongoing memory supply shortage.

Apple has already increased prices across several other product categories in recent months, including Macs, iPads and HomePods.

India Prices Also Increase

In India, the iPhone 17 now starts at approximately $1,050.

The iPhone Air has increased to around $1,575, while the iPhone 17e starts at approximately $840.

The iPhone 16 now starts at around $945.

The latest changes mean buyers looking at previous-generation iPhones will now face higher prices rather than the usual discounts that follow a new Apple launch.
