Asus has launched a new AMD-powered configuration of its Vivobook Pro 14 in China, bringing the Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor to a compact laptop with a high-resolution OLED display.
The new model combines AMD’s Zen 5-based processor with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It also features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
In China, Asus sells the laptop under its Fearless branding, while the same series is known as the Vivobook Pro 14 in international markets.
The new Ryzen Edition, identified as M5450, is available with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Asus also offers a higher-end configuration with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The laptop has two M.2 2280 storage slots and supports up to 4TB of total storage.
Internals and Hardware
The main upgrade is AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor. It has 10 cores and 20 threads and is based on AMD’s Zen 5 architecture.
The chip can reach speeds of up to 5.0GHz and includes integrated Radeon 880M graphics. It also features an XDNA NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS for AI workloads.
Asus’ cooling system allows the laptop to operate at up to 80W in high-performance mode.
Display
The Vivobook Pro 14 has a 14-inch OLED display with a 2,880 × 1,800 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and a 0.2ms response time. Asus lists peak brightness of up to 1,100 nits.
The display also supports HDR and carries DisplayHDR 1000 certification.
Battery and Cooling
The laptop measures 17.9mm thick and weighs around 1.39kg.
It packs an 80Wh battery. Asus advertises up to 27 hours of battery life and says the battery can reach 50% charge in 30 minutes.
For cooling, the laptop uses Asus’ IceCool Pro system. It includes a 75mm fan, heat pipe and copper cooling fins.
Ports and Connectivity
The Vivobook Pro 14 includes two USB-A 3.2 ports, one USB4 Type-C port and another USB-C 3.2 port.
Other connections include HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm audio jack. Both USB-C ports support Power Delivery.
The Ryzen model uses USB4, while the Intel version of the laptop comes with Thunderbolt 4.
Ryzen Model is Cheaper
The new Ryzen configuration is $45 cheaper than the 16GB/512GB Intel version, which uses Intel’s Core Ultra 7 356H processor.
A comparison of the two processors across 41 benchmarks gave the Core Ultra 7 356H a combined score of 110%, compared with 100% for the Ryzen AI 9 H 465.
In China, the Vivobook Pro 14 Ryzen Edition with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage costs around $1,115.
Asus has not announced international pricing or availability for this particular configuration.
Vivobook Pro 16 Also Gets Ryzen AI 9 H 465
Asus also offers a larger Vivobook Pro 16 with the same Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor.
The 16-inch model has a 2.5K OLED display with a faster 165Hz refresh rate. However, it weighs around 1.65kg, making it about 260 grams heavier than the 14-inch version.
The 16GB/512GB configuration costs around $30 more than the new 14-inch model in China.
