Google to Help Pakistani Families Stay Safe Online
Google has launched a nationwide online safety initiative ‘Digital Pasban’ to help Pakistani families protect children and navigate the internet more safely.
The program plans to reach 200,000 households across Pakistan with Urdu-language safety toolkits, instructional videos and hands-on workshops for parents and guardians.
Google said the initiative will focus on digital literacy and online safety through tools covering parental controls, age-appropriate content, digital citizenship and responsible use of artificial intelligence.
The program brings together Google, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Tech Valley, Beaconhouse School System, Jazz World and HUM Network, with support from relevant government ministries.
Digital Pasban will also use schools, broadcast media, SMS alerts and community-based safety clinics to reach families across the country.
