The Virtual University of Pakistan has opened applications for 17 management, administrative, and technical jobs in Islamabad.
The vacancies include Director Planning and Development, Director Administration, Director Campuses, General Manager Professional Development Centre, deputy directors, assistant directors, Deputy Registrar Legal, Public Relations Officer and Electrician.
Most selected candidates will work at the university’s head office in Islamabad. Of the three Electrician positions, two are based in Lahore and one in Islamabad.
The university will appoint successful candidates on three-year contracts, which may be extended based on satisfactory performance.
Applicants must submit their forms online through the Virtual University jobs portal by September 28, 2026.

Two Electrician positions are based in Lahore, while one is available in Islamabad. The other selected candidates will be posted at the Virtual University head office.
Eligibility Criteria
The Director Planning and Development position requires 16 years of education in engineering from an HEC-recognized university. Applicants must also have an MBA or PMP qualification and at least 15 years of relevant experience.
Candidates applying for Director Administration and Director Campuses need a first-class master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management or an equivalent field. They must have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience.
The General Manager Professional Development Centre position is open to candidates with qualifications in computer science, information technology, engineering, management sciences or related fields. The required experience depends on the applicant’s qualification.
The Deputy Director ORIC post requires an MS, MPhil, MBA or equivalent 18-year qualification. A PhD will be preferred. Applicants must also have experience in university management, corporate administration or institutional research.
The Deputy Director Planning and Development position requires 16 years of education in engineering, management or sciences, along with seven years of relevant experience.
Virtual University requires applicants for the Deputy Registrar Legal position to hold an LLB, LLM, or another accepted legal qualification. Applicants must also register with a provincial or federal bar council and have relevant experience as practising lawyers.

Public Relations Officer and Electrician Jobs
The Public Relations Officer position requires a master’s degree in Mass Communication or an equivalent qualification with at least a second division.
Applicants need five years of experience in a similar role. Experience in media coordination will provide an advantage.
Electrician candidates need a second-division DAE in Electrical Technology and at least two years of relevant experience.
They should have practical knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, distribution boards and power generators.
Application Fee
Candidates applying for positions in Pay Scale E must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 3,000.
The fee for positions in Pay Scale is Rs. 1,000.
Applicants must submit a separate application and pay a separate processing fee for each position.

Candidates must apply through the Virtual University jobs portal. They should complete all mandatory fields, upload the required documents and click the final Submit button. The university will not accept hard copies.
Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the Higher Education Commission.
Those working in government, semi-government, or autonomous organizations must submit a no-objection certificate from their employer.
