Saudi Arabia Launches Digital Student ID Cards With QR Codes for the First Time
Saudi Arabia has launched digital student ID cards with QR codes for students across public schools as the country expands its digital education services ahead of the new academic year.
The Ministry of Education has introduced the new services through its Unified Education Portal, bringing academic activities, communication tools, and administrative services together on a single digital platform.
Students, parents, and teachers will now be able to access school-related services through online platforms. They will no longer need to visit schools for routine academic and administrative matters.
Through the portal, students and parents can view homework, periodic tests, and other school assignments. The system will help families keep track of academic activities throughout the school year.
The platform also includes a messaging feature that allows parents to communicate directly with teachers and school administrative staff. This will make it easier to handle regular questions and follow-ups online.
As part of the new digital system, students will receive official digital identification cards containing important personal and academic details.
The digital ID card includes information such as the student’s name, nationality, identity number, school, and grade level. It also comes with a QR code that allows authorised entities to verify the student’s information electronically when required.
The Ministry of Education said the digital ID service is part of wider efforts to improve digital education services across Saudi Arabia.
