Punjab to Upgrade Lahore’s Major Road
Lahore’s Ferozepur Road is set for a major upgrade, with the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) preparing a comprehensive plan to improve the road and surrounding areas.
The proposed project covers around 15 kilometers from Lahore Canal to Gajjumata. The LDA Engineering Wing has prepared the plan based on sustainable development principles, drawing on the development model used in Gulberg.
The upgrade will include road rehabilitation, walkways, tile work and designated seating areas. The plan also calls for standardized exterior designs for buildings, improved signboards and new sidewalks along the road.

The LDA also plans to improve markets along Ferozepur Road and create dedicated walking areas in front of shops, following the approach used for the rehabilitation of markets in Ichhra.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz recently visited Ferozepur Road, Nishtar and Youhanabad and took notice of potholes and the deteriorated condition of the road. She directed the LDA to take immediate steps for its rehabilitation.
