Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has inaugurated the International Travelers Vaccination Center in Islamabad to provide vaccination and certification services to people traveling to and from Pakistan.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Kamal said travelers should receive all required vaccinations before traveling. He particularly stressed that people going for Hajj and Umrah must carry a meningitis vaccination certificate.
The minister said the new center will provide vaccination services under one roof, with travelers’ records also entered into NADRA’s database.
According to Kamal, the system will be fully digitized and cashless, while vaccination certificates will be verified through NADRA. Health Department and NADRA counters will also be available at airports to facilitate passengers.
He said data on passengers arriving by air will be maintained at health desks, while a single digital certificate will cover flu, meningitis, and polio vaccinations.
Kamal further said Pakistani national identity card numbers will eventually serve as medical record numbers as part of the digital health system.
He added that the system has been designed to operate continuously regardless of who is in office.
