Oxford University Press to Introduce Curriculum in Punjab’s Schools of Eminence
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met a delegation from Oxford University Press (OUP) Pakistan to discuss improving education standards and promoting a modern education system across the province.
During the meeting, the OUP delegation praised the Punjab government’s education initiatives, particularly the Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence project. The delegation also offered its support to the provincial government for improving educational standards.
The meeting agreed to expand cooperation between the Punjab School Education Department and Oxford University Press. As part of the collaboration, a pilot project using OUP’s curriculum will be launched at the Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence.
OUP also offered to provide digital training programs for teachers, capacity-building support, teaching guides and assistance in other academic areas. The delegation described the educational standards at the Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence as exceptionally high.
Maryam Nawaz welcomed the proposed collaboration and said improving the quality of education remained a priority for her government.
The chief minister also said she wanted to serve not only the people of Punjab but also those in Sindh and other provinces. She said she was deeply aware of the difficulties faced by people in Karachi and across Sindh.
Maryam further claimed that the improving standard of public education in Punjab could be gauged from the growing interest among parents in securing admissions for their children in government schools.
