Lahore Gets 5 New Padel Courts

Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has inaugurated five newly built padel tennis courts in Lahore as part of the provincial government’s efforts to expand opportunities in emerging sports.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the sports secretary, director general of sports, and members of the sporting community.

Khokhar said one of the courts has been built according to international standards, while the other four are designed for national competitions, player training and regular practice.

He said the project was completed at an estimated cost of Rs100 million to Rs120 million and includes seating arrangements, washrooms and other basic facilities for athletes and visitors.

According to the minister, activity at the courts has already begun, and the venue is also prepared to host international padel competitions in the future.

He said the provincial government plans to expand the sport beyond Lahore and will establish similar facilities in Sialkot.

Khokhar said the new courts will provide a platform for the growth of padel tennis and create more sporting opportunities for athletes across Punjab.

He reaffirmed that the government will continue investing in both established and emerging sports, saying the Lahore facility will serve as an important hub for developing padel tennis in the province.
