The Sargodha district administration has declared a local holiday for all public and private educational institutions in Sargodha city on Wednesday, August 12, citing security reasons.
According to an order issued by Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhary on Tuesday, the holiday will apply to schools, colleges and universities located within Sargodha city. The administration issued the order under a Punjab government notification dated January 19, 2026.
The order specifically limits the holiday to educational institutions in Sargodha City and does not extend it to institutions across the entire district.
The deputy commissioner directed relevant education authorities, university administrations, police officials and other concerned departments to take necessary action regarding the local holiday.
