Govt to Present Miraculous 21-Year Economic Revival Plan This Month
The federal government is preparing to launch Vision Pakistan 2047 on International Youth Day on August 12, 2026, with ministries and government divisions being asked to submit their long-term goals and development priorities within two weeks.
Sources told ProPakistani that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to unveil the national vision document, which is intended to define Pakistan’s development direction for the next two decades.
However, the preparation timeline has raised questions, as ministries and divisions have been asked to provide their strategic objectives, flagship reforms, and long-term commitments within 2 weeks before launch.
The Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) has directed federal ministries and their attached departments, autonomous bodies, and subordinate offices to submit their proposed Vision 2047 inputs for compilation and review.
The requested submissions are expected to cover areas including economic transformation, human capital development, technological advancement, environmental sustainability, governance reforms, and sector-specific priorities.
The government says Vision Pakistan 2047 will provide a long-term roadmap focused on empowering youth and positioning them as key drivers of economic growth, innovation, and national progress.
But the government didn’t explain how it intends to plan a decades-long national strategy in just 2 weeks, especially given that such visions typically require extensive research, consultations, data analysis, and cross-sector planning.
The PMYP has requested ministries to submit their inputs to facilitate the timely preparation of the document for consideration by the Prime Minister, sources added.
