Anthropic Extends Deadline for Higher Claude Code Usage Limits

Anthropic has extended its temporary 50% increase to Claude Code weekly usage limits through August 31, giving paid users more capacity to work with its AI coding tool.

The higher limits apply to Pro, Max, Team, and legacy seat-based Enterprise users. Anthropic had previously said the increased limits would remain available through August 19, but the company has now extended the promotion again.

Fable 5 Access Also Changed in July

The extended Claude Code limits come alongside changes Anthropic made to Claude Fable 5 access on July 20.

Fable 5 is now included as a standard part of Max plans, Team Premium seats, and premium seats on legacy seat-based Enterprise plans. These users can spend up to 50% of their normal weekly usage limit on Fable 5 at no additional cost.

This does not give those subscribers another 50% on top of their existing allowance. Fable 5 draws from the same overall weekly usage limit and consumes that allowance faster than other Claude models. Once users reach the Fable 5 portion of their limit, they can switch to another model or continue using Fable 5 with paid usage credits.

Pro and Team Standard Users Get a $100 Credit

Pro and Team Standard users do not have Fable 5 included within their normal weekly subscription limits. Instead, they can access the model using pay-as-you-go usage credits.

Anthropic announced a one-time $100 usage credit for eligible Pro and Team Standard users to help with the change. Standard seats on legacy seat-based Enterprise plans can also access Fable 5 through usage credits if their organization enables them, but those users do not qualify for the promotional credit.

Fable 5 remains available across Anthropic’s paid plans, including through Claude Code. The temporary 50% increase in overall Claude Code weekly limits is separate from Fable 5’s 50% allowance and is currently scheduled to remain in place through August 31.
