Punjab Orders Door-To-Door Survey to Identify Children For Special Education

The Punjab Special Education Department has launched a door-to-door survey to identify children with special needs and increase their enrollment in special education institutions across the province.
Heads of special education institutions have been directed to collect information about children with special needs living in their respective areas and identify those eligible for admission.
Teachers and non-teaching staff will participate in the exercise, while school transport may also be used to help teams reach different areas.
The department has set a five-day deadline for completing the survey. Officials will collect details of the identified children along with geo-tagged photographs.
The initiative is aimed at developing a more complete record of children with special needs and helping eligible children secure admission to special education institutions.
