80% Pakistan is Gay and Remaining is Bisexual: LGBT Activist

Karachi-based activist Hina Baloch has claimed that 80 percent of Pakistanis are gay while the remaining 20 percent are bisexual.

In an interview recorded earlier this year, the activist is heard calling it an open secret that people refuse to acknowledge because of religion, culture, and social pressure.

The activist said most people in Pakistan hide their sexual orientation and publicly deny it due to fear of societal backlash.

“Nobody is straight in Pakistan. Eighty percent are gay and 20 percent are bisexual,” the activist said. Baloch believes many people suppress their identities because they believe homosexuality is forbidden and socially unacceptable.

The activist argued that people often marry and start families despite their sexual orientation to meet societal expectations, claiming that the issue remains largely hidden because it is considered taboo.

The interview has recently gone viral across social media platforms, with clips of her remarks being widely shared.

There is no credible evidence or official data supporting Baloch’s claim.
