Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus Introduces New Facility for Women, Children
The Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA) has introduced dedicated partitioning for women and children in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus System to provide greater privacy, comfort and safety during journeys.
According to the PMA, the new arrangement creates a designated space for women and children on Metrobus services and aims to provide them with a more organized and respectful travel environment.
The authority said the initiative seeks to improve privacy and comfort for women and children while strengthening safety measures on the mass transit system.
A public awareness message shared by the PMA describes the initiative as a step toward a “safer and more respectful journey” for women. The authority highlighted three key benefits of the arrangement: greater comfort for women and children, a more organized and respectful travel environment, and enhanced safety.
The PMA’s promotional material also shows designated seating separated by a partition marked “Women & Children Only” inside a Metrobus.
