- Trump has overseen the naming of initiatives and buildings after himself during his second term.
- He has launched TrumpRX, Trump Accounts, and announced a new “Trump-class” of Navy ships.
- His GOP allies have also renamed an airport and a bridge in Florida.
Trump Tower. Trump National Golf Club. Trump Steaks. Even before becoming president of the United States, Donald Trump had a known penchant for putting his name on things.
In his second, non-consecutive term, Trump has named — and renamed — a growing number of government programs and buildings after himself, often forging ahead with changes despite criticism and lawsuits. His board appointees, members of his administration, and other GOP allies have also taken to adding his name or face to their own initiatives.
“President Trump is focused on saving our country — not garnering recognition,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle told Business Insider. “However, given his vast accomplishments, including signing the largest tax cut in history, securing the border, restoring peace through strength, and more, it is natural that local officials and other great patriots want to recognize the President’s incredible work on behalf of the American people.”
Here’s a look at everything Trump has put his name and face on since returning to the White House — so far.

Trump is the first sitting president to appear on the pass, which grants holders access to over 2,000 recreation sites operated by six federal agencies, including the National Park Service, the US Forest Service, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
Trump’s official White House portrait appears alongside an image of George Washington.
The Center for Biological Diversity filed a lawsuit to block Trump’s image from appearing on the pass, alleging that federal law requires the America the Beautiful Pass to feature the winning photo from the National Parks Foundation’s annual contest.
In a statement to The Hill, a White House spokesperson called the lawsuit “frivolous” and said that the group “should be thanking President Trump for enhancing opportunities for Americans to enjoy our beautiful national parks.”
In May 2026, House Democrats asked the court to let them support the lawsuit, which is pending in federal court, E&E News, a Politico publication, reported. The court has not ruled on the request.

The building now reads “Donald J. Trump United States Institute of Peace.”
The State Department’s website says the institute was renamed “to reflect the President’s commitment to the cause of peace around the world.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio publicly backed the decision in a December X post: “President Trump will be remembered by history as the President of Peace. It’s time our State Department display that,” he wrote.
Trump later said in February that he didn’t suggest the name but that Rubio was the one who proposed it. Rubio’s exact role in the renaming process has not been confirmed.
A State Department spokesperson did not answer questions about whether Rubio played a role in the renaming, telling Business Insider: “President Trump is the President of Peace and the greatest dealmaker of all time. The President Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace reflects his commitment of using diplomacy and dealmaking to advance peace around the world.”

The White House’s $1.5 trillion defense budget for fiscal year 2027 includes $65.8 billion to establish the “Golden Fleet,” a shipbuilding initiative that includes constructing a new class of US Navy battleships named after Trump.
Then-Secretary of the Navy John Phelan said in December 2025 that “the future Trump-class battleship, the USS Defiant, will be the largest, deadliest, and most versatile, and best-looking warship anywhere on the world’s oceans.”
Navy budget documents show the USS Defiant is slated to be procured in 2028 and is projected to cost more than $17 billion.

In December 2025, the Kennedy Center‘s Trump-appointed board of trustees voted to rename the center. Signage soon followed, reading “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.”
“The unanimous vote recognizes that the current Chairman saved the institution from financial ruin and physical destruction,” Roma Daravi, the center’s vice president of public relations, told Business Insider in a statement at the time. “The new Trump Kennedy Center reflects the unequivocal bipartisan support for America’s cultural center for generations to come.”
Democratic Rep. Joyce Beatty, an ex officio member of the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees, filed a lawsuit saying that the name change was unlawful. Judge Christopher R. Cooper ruled in May 2026 that “Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it,” and ordered the removal of Trump’s name from the building, website, and other materials.
Since Trump’s name was removed from the building, the facade has remained covered with scaffolding and tarps.

Trump established the Trump Gold Card via executive order in September 2025; it has not been approved by Congress. The residence-by-investment program says it provides foreigners with a pathway to obtain US citizenship “in record time,” with a $1 million gift to the US Department of Commerce and a $15,000 Department of Homeland Security processing fee after background approval.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told reporters in February that the card would replace the EB-5 immigrant investor visa program. He said in April that one person had been approved.
CNBC reported in May that 338 people had so far applied for the Gold Card and 165 people have paid the processing fee.

In August 2025, Trump hosted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House to sign a peace agreement, including the establishment of a new transit corridor, and bilateral economic agreements with the US.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in January and announced that the transit corridor would be called the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.

Florida’s state legislature voted to rename Southern Boulevard, a 4-mile road leading to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, to President Donald J. Trump Boulevard in July 2025. The new name was officially unveiled at a dedication ceremony at Mar-a-Lago on January 16.
“When people see that the beautiful sign is all lit up nice at night and it says ‘Donald J. Trump Boulevard,’ they’ll be filled with pride, just pride,” the president said at the dedication. “Not in me — pride in our country, pride in this state, because our nation will be stronger, richer, and more successful, which is what it is right now.”

TrumpRx.gov serves as a directory for buying discounted prescription drugs directly from manufacturers without the involvement of intermediaries — similar to Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs model.
Trump has also announced deals with Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Novo Nordisk, and Eli Lilly to lower prescription drug prices by eliminating pharmacy benefit managers, or PBMs.

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said in a statement that, in honor of the US’s 250th anniversary, Trump’s signature would be added to future paper currency to recognize the president’s leadership “toward unprecedented economic growth, lasting dollar dominance, and fiscal strength and stability.”
Only the signatures of US Treasury officials have appeared on paper currency, making Trump’s signature as a sitting president a historic first.

The executive order, titled “Promoting Retirement-Savings Access for American Workers,” provides eligible lower-income workers with access to retirement plans if their employers don’t provide them, plus matched federal contributions of up to $1,000 a year.
The program builds on the Saver’s Match of the SECURE 2.0 Act, which was passed in 2022 under the Biden administration.
The executive order also establishes TrumpIRA.gov as the online platform for enrollment in these private-sector retirement plans. The site is not yet active, with a note that reads “Coming 2027.”
The White House estimated that the initiative would expand access to retirement plans to 56 million Americans.
“For example, if a 25-year-old who is eligible for a Saver’s Match program invests just $165 a month under the matching federal contributions, they will have an estimated $465,000 in their account by the time they’re 65 years old,” Trump said at the signing of the executive order in April. “In other words, they’ll be rich. And there’s something awfully nice about that.”

At a press conference in May, Bessent said that the Treasury Department was “prepared” to print a $250 bill featuring Trump’s face in honor of America’s 250th anniversary — but Congress would have to pass legislation to change the law to make it possible.
“As Treasury Secretary, I have two mandates for US currency. At present, that no living person can be on US currency, and the currency must say, ‘In God We Trust,'” Bessent said. “Right now, there is proposed legislation — in front of the House, in front of the Senate — to change the first requirement so that a living person, Donald J. Trump, could be on the $250 bill.”

US law dictates that “only the portrait of a deceased individual may appear on United States currency and securities.”
A US Treasury spokesperson previously told Business Insider that the commemorative Trump coin for America’s 250th anniversary would be produced in accordance with the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020, which authorized “$1 coins with designs emblematic of the United States Semiquincentennial during the one-year period beginning January 1, 2026.”
However, as Business Insider’s Katherine Li reported, the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020 also states that “no head and shoulders portrait or bust of any person, living or dead, and no portrait of a living person may be included in the design on the reverse of specified coins.”
Still, the US Commission of Fine Arts, whose members were appointed by Trump, approved a design featuring his portrait earlier this year. The version unveiled in July differs slightly, including a gold-colored finish instead of solid gold.
The US Mint says the $1 coin will be available in the fall, along with other semiquincentennial designs. It’s unclear if the Trump coin design will be successfully challenged in court; a federal lawsuit in Oregon was voluntarily dismissed in July shortly after the final design was unveiled, Reason Magazine reported.

The “Patriot Passports” were initially only available in person at the Washington Passport Agency in honor of America’s 250th anniversary.
At the end of July, the State Department announced that it would produce more Trump passports “in response to overwhelming demand,” offering an additional 250,000 at passport offices in 19 states, by appointment and in-person only.

Parents or guardians can open a Trump Account for their child through the Internal Revenue Service. For every child born between 2025 and 2028, the US Treasury will deposit $1,000 into the account. Parents or guardians can then add up to $5,000 a year.
At the launch event in the Oval Office on July 6, Trump said that calling the initiative Trump Accounts “was not my idea,” but that he was “very proud” to have his name on them.
“They said it’ll sell better if your name’s on it,” he said.

The Tennessee General Assembly passed a law renaming the Douglas Lake Bridge to the President Donald J. Trump Bridge in April 2025.
The unveiling ceremony in July was attended by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, GOP Tennessee politicians Sen. Marsha Blackburn and Rep. Tim Burchett, and members of the Trump family, ABC affiliate WATE reported.
At the ceremony, state Rep. Jeremy Faison said that he and state Rep. Jessie Seal chose to name the bridge after Trump because the president “is worthy of us honoring him.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law enacting the name change for the West Palm Beach airport in March, and signs welcoming passengers to President Donald J. Trump International Airport went up in July.
While the airport’s signage and branding have been updated, its International Air Transport Association, or IATA, code will remain “PBI” until it transitions to “DJT” on August 18.
The name change is estimated to cost $5.5 million, with $2.75 million allocated from state funding.
