Rawalpindi Issues New Safety Directives for Private Schools
The Rawalpindi district administration has issued urgent safety directives to private schools across the district following persistent monsoon rains to protect students and staff.
The administration directed school managements to immediately clear rooftops, prevent water from accumulating and inspect school buildings for structural weaknesses.
School administrators must also secure electric poles, hanging wires and other hazardous electrical fittings on school premises.
Under the directive issued Wednesday, school managements must thoroughly inspect rooftops and vulnerable sections of buildings and immediately report any dilapidated or unsafe structures to the district administration.
The administration also ordered schools to prevent students from accessing rooftops and other high-risk areas during rainy weather.
