Punjab Extends Registration Deadline for Arms Dealers

The Punjab Home Department has extended by 10 days the deadline for arms dealers to upload all required information to the online digital inventory registration system.

The new deadline for registering existing stock and purchase and sale records has been set for September 6, 2026.

All arms dealers will be required to complete registration of their stock and transaction records on the online portal by the given date.

According to a department spokesperson, complete records of firearms and ammunition held by each arms dealer will be available on the Home Department’s online portal, along with details of purchase and sale transactions.

The spokesperson said that out of 413 registered arms dealers in the province, 230 have already entered their details into the digital inventory system.

Deputy commissioners are assisting arms dealers in their respective districts with the registration process.

The extension was announced during a training workshop held in Lahore on Tuesday to guide arms dealers on the Punjab Arms Licence Portal.

More than 350 arms dealers, including participants joining online from deputy commissioner offices, attended the workshop to learn about the digital inventory registration system.

The Home Department said the online registration of arms stocks and purchase and sale transactions is aimed at reducing crime in Punjab and curbing the illegal trade of arms.

The spokesperson warned that dealers who fail to upload their inventories will face legal action, suspension of licences, sealing of their businesses and fines under the law.

Additional Secretary Judicial Abdul Rauf, Deputy Secretary Judicial Muhammad Murtaza and NADRA officials provided training to the dealers on using the portal and registering digital inventories.
