The Punjab government has revised school timings for non-formal schools across the province, with the new schedule taking effect immediately and remaining in force until March 31, 2027.
According to an order issued by the Directorate General of Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education on October 19, non-formal schools will operate from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM, Monday through Saturday.
The order, issued with the approval of the competent authority, allows district officials to adjust school timings on a case-by-case basis to accommodate the needs of the target population.
The directorate has instructed districts to update the revised timings on the Non-Formal Education Management Information System (NFEMIS) portal immediately.
It has also directed all District Education Officers (Literacy) across Punjab to ensure full compliance with the new schedule. The order applies to non-formal schools across the province and replaces the previous timings until the end of March 2027.
