The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi has recorded the lowest pass percentage among Punjab’s nine education boards in the Secondary School Certificate First Annual Examination 2026.
According to the official result gazettes, BISE Rawalpindi achieved an overall pass percentage of 61.31 percent, placing it at the bottom of the Punjab boards’ performance ranking.
A total of 121,397 candidates registered for the examination under the Rawalpindi Board. Of these, 120,411 appeared, while 73,829 successfully passed.
Based on the number of students who appeared, 46,582 candidates failed to clear all the required subjects. The remaining 986 registered candidates were absent or were not included in the final appeared count.

Rawalpindi remained below Lahore, which recorded the second-lowest pass percentage at 64.53 percent. Sahiwal stood seventh in the ranking with a pass rate of 65.10 percent.
The difference between Rawalpindi and D.G. Khan, the highest-performing board in Punjab, stood at 16.55 percentage points.
Across Punjab, a total of 1,348,352 candidates appeared in the Matric examinations. Of these, 926,569 passed, producing a combined provincial pass percentage of 68.72 percent.
Rawalpindi’s result was therefore 7.41 percentage points below the overall Punjab average.
