PSL Opens Direct Signings for 2027

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has announced the pre-season roadmap for its 12th edition, with direct signings opening today for all eight franchises. Teams have until November 23, 2026, to complete their selections.

Under the direct signing rules, each franchise can sign one marquee player who did not feature in PSL 10 or PSL 11.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also aligned its domestic cricket calendar with the PSL pre-season schedule. The National T20 Gold and National T20 Silver tournaments will serve as key talent-identification events ahead of the PSL 12 Player Auction.

Meanwhile, a franchise workshop will take place next week to finalize the deadlines for player retentions and the pre-auction trade window. Officials will also discuss player auction rules and playing conditions.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 12 would be the league’s most ambitious edition yet. He noted that PSL 11 concluded before a record crowd and said the PCB was building on that momentum by expanding the tournament to more cities.

Naqvi added that the roadmap would give franchises, players, commercial partners and broadcasters greater certainty as they prepare for the upcoming season.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer confirmed that the tournament would visit five to six venues for the first time. He said the expansion would bring the league closer to fans across Pakistan and give more cities the opportunity to host T20 cricket.

Naseer also said squad-building decisions, including direct signings, trades and retentions, would shape the teams competing in March.

The player-movement schedule has been finalized, with the PSL 12 Player Auction set for January 23, 2027. The tournament will feature 44 matches over 46 days across five to six venues.

The PCB and PSL management said further announcements would follow in the coming weeks.
