P@SHA Senior VC Umair Nizam Takes Charge as Acting Chairman After No-Confidence Vote
The Senior Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), Umair Nizam, has taken charge as Acting Chairman following a vote of no confidence against former Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed, the association announced in a press release.
According to the Secretary General of P@SHA, eight out of twelve members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) formally voted in favor of the no-confidence motion against the former chairman. Three members voted against it, while one member abstained, giving the motion a two-thirds majority.
P@SHA extended its best wishes to the former chairman in his future endeavors, noting that he will continue to serve as a CEC member for the remainder of his term.
“Looking ahead, the CEC is committed to ensuring continuity, stability, and smooth daily and strategic operations across all ongoing initiatives,” the association said.
Umair Nizam, the Senior Vice Chairman, has been appointed as Acting Chairman by default as per rules until a new Chairman is elected by the CEC in the coming days.
The association further clarified that the upcoming elections and the 22nd P@SHA ICT Awards will be held as per their respective schedules without any delays or interruptions, describing P@SHA as a strong and well-established trade body committed to continuing business as usual in the larger interest of the IT industry.
“P@SHA strongly maintains that its elections will be held in a timely, free, fair, and transparent manner,” the press release stated.
