Poco has officially launched the Poco X8 in global markets, expanding its latest X-series lineup beyond the Pro and Pro Max models that arrived earlier this year.
The new smartphone combines a large AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, and an 8,340mAh battery. It also comes with multiple IP ratings for protection against dust and water.
The Poco X8 is launching globally ahead of its expected debut in India, where the company is also preparing to introduce the X8 Power.
Design and Display
The Poco X8 features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1280 x 2772-pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations.
The screen can reach a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, making it easier to view in bright outdoor conditions.
The phone measures 163.45 x 78.27 x 8.6mm and weighs 223 grams. It will be available in Black, White and Orange.
Poco has also given the phone strong protection against dust and water. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.
Internals and Software
The Poco X8 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. The phone will be available with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
There are three memory configurations: 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB. However, the European market will apparently only receive the 256GB storage variants.
On the software side, the phone runs Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 interface.
Cameras
The Poco X8 has a dual-camera setup on the back. The main camera uses a 50MP sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), which can help reduce blur caused by hand movement when taking photos and videos. It is joined by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait photography.
For selfies and video calls, the phone features a 16MP front camera.
Battery and Pricing
One of the Poco X8’s biggest highlights is its 8,340mAh battery.
The battery supports 67W wired charging, allowing users to recharge the large battery at relatively high speeds. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging, letting the phone charge other compatible devices.
Poco says the battery can maintain its capacity for at least 1,600 charging cycles before falling below 80% of its original capacity.
In Europe, the Poco X8 starts at €399.99 for the 8GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 256GB version costs €449.99.
