PIA Resumes Flights on Major International Route After Months
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has restored direct air connectivity between Pakistan and China after suspending its Beijing operations earlier this year. The airline resumed its Islamabad-Beijing service on October 30, with plans to operate one flight every Friday under its renewed schedule.
PIA said the restored service would provide passengers with a direct and convenient travel option between the two capitals. The airline also aims to offer competitive fares and maintain regular operations in the Chinese market.
PIA has also strengthened its cooperation with three major Chinese airlines, Air China, Shenzhen Airlines and Hainan Airlines, to expand its connectivity across China.
Through its partnership with Air China, PIA passengers can connect to several domestic destinations across China through Beijing, one of the country’s major aviation hubs.
PIA suspended its Beijing flights in April following repeated increases in jet fuel prices. The airline also announced the suspension of its Kuala Lumpur flights as part of measures to control operating costs.
At the time, PIA said it could not pass the entire burden of higher fuel prices on to passengers and had therefore taken administrative measures to manage its expenses. The resumption of the Beijing service restores a direct air link between the two countries after a suspension of nearly seven months.
