Pakistan International Airlines has approved a performance bonus for its employees, marking the first such decision after the airline transitioned to private management.
The approval came during the 102nd board of directors meeting held on Friday. The board sanctioned a performance bonus equal to one month’s basic salary for PIA employees.
A PIA spokesman said the decision reflects the new leadership’s focus on human capital and its broader transformation and growth strategy.
The management said the move aims to recognise employees’ dedication and motivate teams ahead of upcoming operational milestones, route revivals and service improvements.
PIA Chairman of the Board said the workforce remains the backbone of the airline’s revival.
He said the company is building a foundation of excellence, accountability and commercial viability by prioritising employee welfare and motivation from the start.
The decision signals a positive beginning for the new management as it works to improve operational reliability, customer service and long-term corporate growth.
