Pakistan Railways Fines Islamabad Express Kitchen Manager Over Poor Hygiene
Pakistan Railways has fined the Islamabad Express kitchen manager Rs. 1,000 after a surprise inspection found unsatisfactory cleanliness and substandard milk.
Lahore Divisional Commercial Officer Abdullah Arshad inspected the kitchen sections of the Islamabad Express and Green Line trains on the instructions of Lahore Division Superintendent Inamullah.
During the inspections, he reviewed food and beverage quality, hygiene standards and facilities provided to passengers.
Inspectors found inadequate cleanliness and substandard milk in the Islamabad Express kitchen, prompting the fine. However, they rated the complimentary food boxes served to passengers as satisfactory.
Meanwhile, the Green Line’s food quality and complimentary services also received a satisfactory assessment. Its kitchen manager received a warning over the sale of local water.
Arshad also checked other food items and cleanliness in both kitchens. He instructed staff to ensure passengers receive quality food and the best possible services.
He said Pakistan Railways would not compromise on the quality of food and beverages served aboard trains, in line with Federal Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi’s vision
