Over 21 Lac Smart Electricity Meters Installed Across Pakistan
More than 2.1 million smart electricity meters have been installed across Pakistan’s power distribution companies, according to a written reply submitted by the Ministry of Energy to the Senate.
The ministry reported that a total of 2,125,296 smart meters have been installed across the distribution network, with Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) accounting for the largest share at 1,153,556 meters.
Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has installed 348,135 smart meters, while Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has installed 229,719. Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has installed 119,372 meters and Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has installed 111,948.
Among the other distribution companies, Peshawar Electric Power Company (PESCO) has installed 60,685 smart meters, followed by K Electric with 50,599. Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) has installed 19,620 meters, while Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) has installed 13,432.
Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has installed 9,194 smart meters, while Hazara Electric Supply Company (HAZECO) has installed 7,659. Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO) has the lowest number of installations at 1,377.
