The Ministry of Religious Affairs has warned Pakistani pilgrims planning to travel under the private Hajj scheme for Hajj 2027 not to pay their expenses in cash to any individual or Hajj operator.
The ministry has instructed pilgrims to use only the official Digital Hajj Management System or the Pak Hajj App for payment of Hajj expenses under the private scheme.
It said the move is aimed at protecting pilgrims from possible fraud and ensuring effective monitoring of private Hajj operators.
Pilgrims have been advised not to make payments to anyone outside the prescribed system and procedure, as doing so could result in financial loss.
Under the Hajj policy, pilgrims opting for the private Hajj scheme will have to choose only officially licensed private Hajj operators for their preparations.
The ministry clarified that no unauthorized person should be paid in cash or through any non-official method.
The ministry also noted that around 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims were unable to perform Hajj in 2025 for various reasons.
For Hajj 2027, Pakistan’s quota has been set at 179,210 pilgrims. Of these, 71,684 will be able to perform Hajj under the private scheme, while the remaining pilgrims will travel under the government scheme.
