Meta One Brings a New Subscription to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp

Meta is launching Meta One, a new subscription service that brings paid features across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI.

The company says Meta One will offer more than 50 paid features. Single-app subscriptions start at $2.99 per month, while individual bundles cost $7.99 or $19.99. Creator and business plans start at $14.99 and go up to $499 per month.

Meta says its free apps will remain free. Meta AI will also remain free for what the company describes as “everyday use.”

The company said Meta One builds on the Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus subscriptions it introduced earlier this year. Meta says those plans have helped bring its total subscriptions and trials to 15 million so far.

Meta One Adds More Paid Features

The consumer plans offer a range of customization and convenience features.

These include custom fonts and app icons, super reactions, the ability to see who viewed your Story, more pinned chats, and WhatsApp backups.

The more expensive Core and Premium bundles add increased access to Meta’s more compute-intensive AI features.

Subscribers can get more usage of AI-powered image generation and editing, video generation through Meta’s Muse models, and Restyle on Instagram.

Meta says early testing showed that more than half of bundle subscribers used both its AI and expression features. The company also said Restyle and voice effects were among the main reasons users subscribed.

This makes AI a central part of Meta’s paid upgrade strategy. Rather than simply offering an ad-free version of its apps, Meta is charging users for greater access to some of its more resource-intensive AI features.

Subscription Tiers

Meta One also introduces four tiers aimed at creators and businesses.

The Essential plan costs $14.99 per month. It includes an enhanced profile, a follow button on Reels, automatic follow invitations for people who interact with an account, a verified badge, and more responses from Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp.

The Advanced plan costs $49.99 per month. It adds features such as scheduling Stories up to 30 days ahead, adding links to organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, and team access without sharing passwords. It also provides more linked devices and broadcast credits on WhatsApp.

Meta’s Expert and Max plans cost $149 and $499 per month, respectively. They provide the same general set of business tools at higher usage levels, including greater capacity for Meta Business Agent.

The new business tiers put several social media management tools directly inside Meta’s own platforms. Features such as organic-post links, exportable analytics, and team access were previously available through a combination of platform features and third-party tools.

Meta is now packaging them as part of its own subscription offering.
