Meta Launches Muse Spark 1.3 With Faster Coding and Smarter Agents

Meta has released Muse Spark 1.3, an updated version of its AI model focused on improving agentic workflows, coding performance and real-world usability.

The model is rolling out through Muse Code and the Meta Model API. Existing reasoning modes are available immediately, while max reasoning will arrive later after additional safety testing.

Performance

Muse Spark 1.3 improves performance across agentic, coding, instruction-following, and long-context tasks compared with earlier Muse Spark models.

For coding, Meta says the model is significantly faster and more efficient than Muse Spark 1.2. In internal comparisons by Meta engineers, Muse Spark 1.3 used around 20% fewer tool calls and approximately 25% fewer tokens.

The model also requires fewer unnecessary conversational turns and produces less verbose responses while maintaining a cleaner coding style.

Meta trained Muse Spark 1.3 on more long-horizon coding tasks, which helped improve its performance in common software engineering workflows.

Capabilities

Muse Spark 1.3 is designed to handle longer and more complex agentic tasks while maintaining context across multiple workflows in the same conversation.

When given an open-ended objective, the model can use tools to gather information from conflicting or incomplete sources, identify gaps in its plan, and keep track of what it has learned before producing a final result.

It also follows complex, long-form instructions more reliably and is less likely to lose detailed requirements during multi-step tasks.

Meta has improved the model’s multitasking capabilities as well. Muse Spark 1.3 can more accurately determine which task an incoming prompt belongs to, even when users interrupt previous work or switch between different requests in one thread.

The model is also designed to collaborate more actively with users. It can ask clarifying questions when requests are unclear, request help when it becomes stuck and seek confirmation before performing consequential actions.

Muse Spark 1.3 also has improved awareness of its own limitations, including when it lacks information or cannot complete a task, reducing the likelihood of generating unsupported outcomes.

Meta has strengthened safety for agentic and coding tasks as well. The model offers improved resistance to adversarial inputs and prompt injection attacks and is better at recognizing actions that may be difficult or impossible to reverse.

Pricing

Meta did not announce any new pricing details for Muse Spark 1.3 in the release information.

How to Access Muse Spark 1.3

Muse Spark 1.3 is available now through Muse Code and the Meta Model API.

Users on macOS or Linux can install Muse Code using Meta’s installation command, while developers can also sign up through Meta’s developer platform to access the model through the API.

Previously available reasoning modes are already supported. Meta says max reasoning will be released after it completes additional safety testing.
