Major Progress Made on Kashmir Chowk Underpass
The Kashmir Chowk Underpass project in Islamabad has entered its final stages, with 78% of the construction work completed in just 20 days, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said during a visit to the site.
Naqvi reviewed the pace of construction and directed the relevant authorities to complete the remaining work as soon as possible, ensuring the project is delivered within its scheduled timeline.
Officials briefed the minister that the underpass would be completed within the stipulated 30-day period. They said horticulture, road construction and asphalt work were progressing rapidly, while workers were also installing light poles and fixtures.
The minister also directed officials to improve the surroundings of the underpass through landscaping and decorative lighting. He said 6,000 trees would be planted around the project to make the area greener and more attractive.
Naqvi said the underpass would provide significant relief to people traveling towards Murree and Muzaffarabad. It would also make commuting between Rawalpindi and Islamabad easier, he added. The interior minister further said that steps were being taken to address traffic congestion on the Islamabad Expressway.
