Lifebuoy Run for Pakistan 2026 to Take Place Across 3 Cities on Independence Day
Runners in Pakistan and abroad will come together on Independence Day for Lifebuoy Run for Pakistan 2026, a running initiative aimed at celebrating Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day through sport, unity, and national pride.
Organized by Sports in Pakistan, the event will take place simultaneously in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, while Pakistanis living abroad will also be able to participate virtually.
The races will be held at DHA Phase 8 in Karachi, Bagh-e-Jinnah in Lahore, and the PSB Sports Complex in Islamabad. Participants can compete over three distances: 7 km, 14 km, and 21 km.
Sports in Pakistan is partnering with Falcon Triathlon Club for the Lahore event and Islamabad Runners Club for the Islamabad event. Lifebuoy is the title sponsor of this year’s Run for Pakistan.
The virtual race will allow Pakistani runners around the world to participate from their respective cities and countries. Participants have also been encouraged to run past landmarks in their cities, carry the Pakistani flag, and record videos that may be included in a global Run for Pakistan reel.
Shoaib Nizami, CEO of Sports in Pakistan, said the event is intended to bring Pakistanis together through running.
“This Independence Day, we are coming together to celebrate Pakistan the way we know best, by running with pride, passion and unity. Run for Pakistan is more than a race; it is a tribute to our homeland.”
Nizami also encouraged Pakistanis living overseas, including those in Europe, Dubai, London, Malaysia, and elsewhere, to take part and represent the country from wherever they are.
A special feature of the 2026 event will be the Year of Quaid-e-Azam Medal, commemorating 150 years since the birth of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
“Some medals celebrate a finish. This one celebrates a legacy,” Nizami said, adding that the medal honors 150 years since Jinnah’s birth.
Lifebuoy’s partnership with the event is aimed at supporting healthier communities while bringing people together through running.
Nizami said the partnership would help bring thousands of runners together to celebrate movement, unity, and the spirit of Pakistan.
With races being held in three major cities and virtual participation open to Pakistanis worldwide, Lifebuoy Run for Pakistan 2026 aims to make running a collective expression of national pride this Independence Day.
