Lahore’s New Underpass to Open for Traffic Soon
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has completed construction work on the Bhatti Chowk Underpass, with lane marking also finished, according to a briefing given to LDA Director General Tahir Farooq.
Farooq visited the underpass as part of an inspection of ongoing development projects in Lahore. Officials briefed him on the completed construction and told him that lane marking had also been completed.
The LDA chief directed officials to complete the remaining beautification work on the underpass barrel at the earliest. He also instructed them to finish work on protected u-turn along Circular Road within the next few days.
TEPA Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain assured Farooq that the remaining beautification, service road and protected U turn work would be completed shortly. Farooq also reviewed development work at Lahore Railway Station, where officials briefed him about a newly installed dancing fountain in the parking area.
He also directed officials to complete finishing work around the station, improve facilities for porters, install fans and ensure water availability. He further ordered improvements to traffic signs around the railway station to help guide visitors.
