Lahore Traffic Police has issued a special traffic advisory plan for August 13 and 14, with fireworks planned at five locations across the city as part of Independence Day celebrations.
According to the plan, fireworks will take place at Greater Iqbal Park, Dolmen Mall Defence, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Adda Plot and Liberty Market. Musical programs will also take place at two locations. Liberty Market and H Block in Defence Phase 6 will host musical shows.
The traffic police has deployed traffic officers and personnel under the supervision of three senior superintendents of police, 16 deputy superintendents of police and 500 traffic inspectors.
Officials will set up special checkpoints at 62 locations across Lahore to prevent wheelie riding, hooliganism and other activities that could disrupt traffic.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said authorities would not tolerate road blockages, road rage or any activity that disrupts traffic. The traffic police urged citizens to celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm, attend the scheduled events and follow traffic rules.
