KP Recommends 50 More Names for Civil Awards
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has recommended 50 additional names for Pakistan’s civil and gallantry awards, including the provincial police chief and Peshawar’s Capital City Police Officer (CCPO).
The recommendations were sent to the federal government after Islamabad sought additional nominations from KP following criticism over the province’s representation in this year’s civil awards.
According to the recommendations submitted by the KP government’s Cabinet Wing to the Cabinet Division, 28 individuals have been proposed for gallantry awards, while 22 have been recommended for civil awards.
Inspector General of KP Police Zulfiqar Hameed has been recommended for Hilal-i-Shujaat and Nishan-i-Imtiaz. Former Hangu SP Shaheed Asad Zubair and former Hangu DSP Shaheed Muhammad Diyar Khan have been recommended for Sitara-i-Shujaat.
CCPO Peshawar Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed, DIG Headquarters Abbas Majid Khan Marwat and several other police and security personnel have also been recommended for Tamgha-i-Shujaat.
Among the civil award nominations, Additional Chief Secretary KP Muhammad Abid Majeed and Additional IG Headquarters Abbas Ahsan have been recommended for Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
DIG Safe Cities Project Ijaz Ahmed and SSP/Commandant EPTC Nowshera Shahib Hussain have been recommended for Sitara-i-Imtiaz, while several commissioners, deputy commissioners and senior government officials have been proposed for Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
The final awards will be decided by the federal government after completing the relevant scrutiny and approval process.
