Korean University Students Sing ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ to Celebrate 14 August

A group of Korean university students has won hearts online after singing the iconic Pakistani patriotic song Dil Dil Pakistan during Independence Day celebrations in South Korea.

A video of the performance surfaced on social media around Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day on August 14. The students can be seen performing the famous song as part of a Pakistan Independence Day event held in Korea.

The performance quickly attracted attention from Pakistani social media users. Several pages also shared the clip, describing it as a warm tribute to Pakistan and a display of friendship between the people of Pakistan and South Korea.

“Dil Dil Pakistan” remains one of the country’s best-known patriotic songs. Vital Signs, with Junaid Jamshed as lead vocalist, made the song famous, and it has remained closely associated with Independence Day celebrations for decades.

The song is regularly performed at national celebrations in Pakistan and among Pakistani communities abroad. Its appearance at an event in Korea gave this year’s Independence Day celebrations an international touch.

Pakistan celebrates Independence Day every year on August 14, marking the country’s independence in 1947. This year, the Korean students’ rendition of “Dil Dil Pakistan” stood out online as one of the more distinctive overseas tributes to the occasion.
