Nishat Group is preparing to introduce two iCAUR SUVs in Pakistan, with the V23 and V27 expected to arrive in the local market this year.
The two models represent different approaches to electric mobility, with the V23 using a fully electric powertrain and the V27 using a range extended electric vehicle (REEV) system.
iCAUR V23
The iCAUR V23 is a compact all electric SUV available internationally with rear wheel drive and all wheel drive configurations. Nishat plans to bring the dual motor all wheel drive variant to Pakistan.
The V23 uses an 81.76 kWh NMC battery and produces a combined 208 hp and 292 Nm through its two electric motors. It offers a claimed range of 430 km under the NEDC cycle and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
The SUV has 210 mm of ground clearance, a 43 degree approach angle, a 41 degree departure angle and a claimed water wading depth of 600 mm. It also offers six driving modes, regenerative braking and vehicle to load functionality.
For safety, the V23 gets six airbags and Level 2 ADAS. Its safety features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane departure prevention and traffic jam assist. A 540 degree 3D camera system, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control and traction control are also available.
iCAUR V27
The larger iCAUR V27 uses a range extended electric vehicle (REEV) powertrain. Its electric motors drive the wheels, while a 1.5 liter turbocharged petrol engine generates electricity to extend the vehicle’s range.
The V27 uses dual motor all wheel drive, with a 150 kW front motor and a 185 kW rear motor. The system produces 449 hp and 505 Nm, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
A 34.31 kWh battery provides a claimed 150 km electric range, while the combined range reaches 995 km. The V27 supports DC fast charging, with the battery taking around 30 minutes to charge from 20% to 80%.
The SUV also offers multiple on road and off road driving modes, adaptive damping and advanced traction control. It can tow up to 1,600 kg with a braked trailer and 750 kg with an unbraked trailer.
The V27 comes with six airbags and Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and centering, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic braking. It also gets a 540 degree camera, Driver Monitoring System and roll stability control.
Nishat plans to launch the V27 alongside the V23 this year. The company has not announced pricing for either model yet.
