Honda is expected to introduce the 7th generation City in Pakistan at this year’s Pakistan Auto Parts Show (PAPS), potentially bringing a major change to the sedan lineup that has remained largely unchanged in the local market for the past five years.
The current 6th generation Honda City has been available in Pakistan since 2021. The upcoming model is already familiar in international markets, where Honda first introduced it in 2019. The car has since received updates in several markets, including India and Thailand.
The possible Pakistani debut comes after a teaser appeared on the Pakistan Auto Show’s official Facebook page. While the teaser does not identify the manufacturer or vehicle, its design appears to show the 7th generation City. Honda has yet to disclose whether it will only display the car at PAPS or also begin taking bookings.
The new City is based on Honda’s GN platform and comes in sedan and hatchback versions internationally. However, the hatchback remains limited to selected Southeast Asian markets, making its launch in Pakistan unlikely.
The international sedan uses a 1.5 liter i VTEC petrol engine producing 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, with manual and CVT transmission options. Higher variants offer features such as a 10.1 inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360 degree camera and Honda Sensing.
However, Honda could offer a different specification in Pakistan, as local variants often receive fewer features than their international counterparts to maintain competitive pricing. The company has not yet announced the Pakistani price, booking details or final specifications.
