Google Pixel 11 Launches With Massive Camera Upgrades and Faster Chipset
Google has launched the Pixel 11 as the latest addition to its flagship smartphone lineup, bringing a new Tensor G6 chip, a larger main camera sensor, faster wireless charging and a higher 256GB base storage option.
The Pixel 11 comes alongside the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The rest of the phones will be covered in separate articles.
Design and Display
The Pixel 11 has a compact 6.3-inch Actua display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Google has retained the smaller form factor while giving the phone a polished back and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover glass. The screen is a 1080p+ LTPS OLED panel similar to its rivals from Samsung and Apple.
The phone is available in four colors: Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio and Obsidian.
Google has also refined the rear camera design, with a slimmer camera visor that gives the phone a cleaner appearance.
Internals and Software
The biggest hardware upgrade is Google’s new Tensor G6 processor. According to Google, the chip is custom-built for its latest AI capabilities and delivers up to 50% more computing power than the previous generation.
The Pixel 11 comes with 12GB of RAM. Base storage has also increased to 256GB, up from 128GB on the previous model. Higher storage configurations include 512GB.
Google has moved to Zoned UFS storage on the Pixel 11, which the company says is designed to provide faster performance.
The phone also includes Google’s latest AI features and is promised seven years of OS and security updates, along with regular Pixel Drops.
Cameras
The Pixel 11 gets a significant camera upgrade over its predecessor. Its main camera now uses a 48MP sensor measuring 1/1.56 inches, replacing the smaller 1/2.0-inch sensor used on the previous model.
The main camera is joined by a 13MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture.
The third camera is a 10.8MP telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom. This gives the standard Pixel 11 a dedicated zoom camera instead of relying only on its main and ultra-wide cameras. This gives it a major advantage over the iPhone 17, which only comes with two main cameras.
Google lists up to 30x Super Zoom for the Pixel 11. The phone also has a 10.5MP front camera with autofocus and a 95-degree ultra-wide field of view. It supports 4K video recording.
Battery and Pricing
The Pixel 11 packs a 4,985 mAh battery and is rated for more than 30 hours of regular use.
Google has also improved charging. PixelSnap wireless charging is 25% faster than on the previous-generation model. Wired charging can take the battery to 55% in about 30 minutes.
Google’s Adaptive Battery technology also learns which apps are used most frequently and reduces power consumption from apps that are rarely opened.
The starting price for the vanilla Pixel 11 is $900 for the 12GB/256GB model, while the 512GB variant will go for $1020
