Google is working on a new Gemini Notebook feature that could allow users to generate interactive apps directly from their source material.
TestingCatalog discovered a new “App” tile under the Studio panel. According to the description shown in the interface, the feature will generate interactive applications using material stored inside a notebook.
Gemini Notebook Could Generate Apps From Sources
The upcoming feature appears to include a prompt box that lets users describe the type of app they want to create.
For example, users could ask Gemini Notebook to turn their source material into a visual dashboard, study tool, lightweight game, or another interactive application. The user would enter instructions and select the Generate button to create it.
The feature has not yet been released, and Google has not announced when it will become available. It is also unclear whether access will be limited to paid users.
Google recently renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook. The company said the rebranding did not replace the standalone product, although it is expanding its integration with the wider Gemini ecosystem.
AI-Generated and Manual Notes Are Also Coming
Google is also working on two additional note-related features for Gemini Notebook.
One would allow users to manually create a new note, while another would use AI to generate notes automatically from notebook material.
The two options would give users more control over how they organize information. AI could quickly create notes from existing sources, while users could manually write or modify their own notes when needed.
Watermark Controls Are Being Tested
A new watermarking toggle has also appeared during testing.
It is not yet clear exactly how the setting will work, but it appears related to controlling visible Google or AI-related branding on exported content such as videos, slide decks and infographics.
None of these upcoming features are currently available to users, and Google has not announced a release date.
The appearance of the App generator, new note controls and watermark settings shows that Google is actively developing additional features for Gemini Notebook, but users will have to wait for an official announcement before their availability and access requirements become clear.
