Pakistan’s urea sales dropped 14 percent year on year in August 2026, settling at 701,000 tons against 817,000 tons in the same month last year, according to data compiled by Arif Habib Limited (AHL). The decline came despite a healthy 21 percent jump over July, when offtake stood at 580,000 tons.
Engro Fertilizers (PSX: EFERT) was the only producer to grow in a shrinking market. The company’s urea sales rose 18 percent year on year to 327,000 tons, nearly doubling from July, and pushed it past Fauji Fertilizer (PSX: FFC) as the month’s largest urea seller.
Combined offtake of FFC and Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (PSX: FFBL) fell 30 percent year on year to 226,000 tons, Fatima Group slipped 20 percent to 140,000 tons, and Agritech Limited (PSX: AGL) posted the steepest fall of all, down 78 percent to just 9,000 tons.
Urea offtake for the first eight months of 2026 came in at 3.79 million tons, almost unchanged from the same period last year. Over that stretch, the rankings reversed, with FFC’s sales up 11 percent to 1.90 million tons while Engro’s declined 12 percent to 1.03 million tons and Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited (PSX: FATIMA) edged up 3 percent to 681,000 tons.
Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) followed a similar path in the month. Offtake fell 10 percent year on year to 123,000 tons, though it rose 32 percent over July.
FFC and FFBL together sold 91,000 tons, down 15 percent, while Engro more than doubled its DAP sales to 16,000 tons and private imports fell 24 percent to 15,000 tons.
Eight month DAP offtake stood at 701,000 tons, flat against last year, with private imports the notable mover, rising 22 percent to 122,000 tons over the period.
