The Punjab government has decided to monitor Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 examination centers through a centralized CCTV system to improve security and transparency during the test.
The Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has approached the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) to facilitate the monitoring arrangements.
Under the plan, a dedicated monitoring unit will provide centralized access to CCTV cameras installed at examination centers across the province, allowing authorities to monitor the centers in real time.
Officials said the examination centers will remain under continuous CCTV surveillance throughout the test as part of the security arrangements.
The surveillance system is also aimed at maintaining discipline and ensuring a peaceful environment for candidates.
MDCAT 2026, which is mandatory for admission to public and private medical and dental colleges in Punjab, will be held on Sunday, September 20.
Examination centers will be set up in 15 cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Gujrat, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Layyah, Bahawalnagar, Mianwali, and Rahim Yar Khan.
