Punjab to Digitize Education for Children With Disabilities

Punjab plans to digitize special education to make classroom learning easier and provide better educational opportunities for children with disabilities.

Director General of Special Education Shoaib Khan Jadoon discussed the initiative during a meeting with a Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) delegation. The talks focused on introducing digital teaching tools and modern educational facilities.

Under the plan, the department will develop classroom learning modules that meet international standards. It will also convert textbooks into simpler digital formats to help children with disabilities access learning materials more easily.

Meanwhile, teachers and school staff will receive training to strengthen their skills. The initiative also includes a proposed state-of-the-art in-house studio to produce educational videos.

Jadoon said technology would help provide equal educational opportunities for children with disabilities. He added that equipping them to meet modern-day requirements remained a priority.

To achieve this, the department plans to introduce a simpler and more effective teaching system supported by digital resources.
