LDA Announces New Traffic Measures for Schools in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) plans to introduce traffic management measures outside schools and other educational institutions within its jurisdiction to reduce congestion and improve student safety.

Under the plan, the authority will designate drop-off and pick-up lanes outside schools so vehicles can stop without blocking traffic on main roads.

The LDA director general has also ordered officials to remove encroachments outside schools and academies that narrow roads and disrupt traffic, particularly during peak hours.

The authority will install zebra crossings to help children cross roads safely and place traffic signboards to make road instructions clearer for motorists.

The initiative will also involve identifying traffic problems around educational institutions and taking appropriate steps to improve vehicle movement and protect students. The measures aim to reduce congestion during school arrival and departure times while making surrounding roads safer for children and other road users.
