Punjab Opens MBBS Admissions for Private Medical Colleges

Applications for MBBS admissions to private medical colleges in Punjab open today, October 23, for the 2026-27 academic session, with the University of Health Sciences (UHS) setting November 6 as the deadline.

UHS will manage the admissions through a centralized system under the Punjab government’s admission policy. The university will publish the first selection list on November 18.

Applications for BDS admissions to private dental colleges will open on December 18 and remain available until January 1, 2027. UHS will announce the first selection list for dental admissions on January 13.

Punjab has 34 private medical colleges offering approximately 4,500 MBBS seats and 18 private dental colleges with 1,100 BDS seats. Eligible candidates from all provinces and overseas Pakistanis can apply if they meet the prescribed criteria.

Merit will be calculated using matriculation or equivalent examination marks, FSc pre-medical or equivalent qualification marks, and MDCAT results, carrying weightages of 10%, 40%, and 50%, respectively.

Applicants must score at least 55% in the MDCAT for MBBS admission and 50% for BDS. They must also secure at least 60% marks in FSc pre-medical or an equivalent qualification.

Selected candidates will have three days to deposit their fees and join their respective colleges. UHS has launched separate online portals for both programs. MBBS applicants can apply at privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk, while BDS applicants can use privatebds.uhs.edu.pk.

The university has advised candidates to review colleges’ fee structures, locations, and available facilities before applying. All merit and selection lists will be published on the UHS website.
