Islamic University Student Ends Her Life After US Study Visa Fraud

Islamabad Police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old International Islamic University student whose body was found in Sector G-10, amid reports that she had been defrauded by a visa agent.

The student, identified in media reports as Laiba Ejaz, was found in a green belt near an old traffic police checkpoint. Police collected evidence from the scene and began inquiries into the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to police, initial findings suggested a possible suicide. However, investigators have not reached a final conclusion about how she died.

Reports citing sources alleged that Laiba had paid an agent Rs. 5 million to arrange a US study visa but was given fake documents. Police said they were examining allegations that an agent had deceived her over an educational visa.

The reported payment, the alleged use of forged documents, and any connection between the financial dispute and her death remain under investigation.

Authorities are examining different aspects of the case to establish what happened. No final police findings confirming suicide or linking her death to the alleged visa fraud have been announced.
