FIA Arrests Islamabad-Based Consultancy CEO for Alleged Rs. 1.6 Million UK Student Visa Scam
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested the chief executive officer of a private consultancy in Islamabad for allegedly defrauding a woman in a UK student visa case.
The FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad arrested Wasil Azad, CEO and owner of IEIS Consultants, from a private housing society’s Phase 7 and recovered Rs. 1.6 million allegedly taken from the complainant.
According to officials, the FIA had registered a case against Azad in February 2026 under Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance 1979, along with Sections 420, 506, and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Investigators said Azad allegedly worked with his associates, including directors Salman and Zulqarnain and visa consultant Saadia, to process Muhammad Zahid’s wife’s UK student visa application.
The complainant allegedly paid £4,000 through Teesside University’s online payment link in May 2025 on the accused’s instructions. However, the accused allegedly failed to submit the visa application and required documents before the deadline, resulting in the applicant being unable to travel to the UK and losing the amount.
Officials said the suspects allegedly threatened the complainant when he repeatedly sought a refund.
FIA officials said the roles of the other suspects would be determined during the investigation.
