A monkey reportedly got drunk after entering a liquor shop in India’s Jharkhand state and drinking from a sealed bottle.
The unusual incident took place in Ranchi, according to Indian media reports.
The female monkey reportedly entered the liquor store and wandered around for some time before picking up a sealed bottle of alcohol. It then managed to open the bottle and drink the contents.
A video of the unusual incident has since gone viral on social media. The footage reportedly shows the monkey sitting on boxes inside the shop in an apparently intoxicated state.
The incident attracted attention after the monkey was found inside the store following its unexpected drinking session.
Rescue officials were alerted after the incident came to light and arrived at the shop to take the animal into their custody.
The monkey was subsequently moved to a safe location by the rescue team.
The incident has since become a talking point on social media, with the video drawing reactions from users amused by the animal’s unusual encounter with the liquor store.
